AC Question

Since the Nougat update i jabe suffered horrendous battery drain, i mean 20% per hour! I have tried all the suggestions on different forums from safe mode (battery still drains v quickly) clearing cache partition several times, turning this and that off, nothing makes a difference.
My battery usage details vary everyday today was android os yesterday was device idle. All percentages usage shown doesnt equate to whats being drained.
I am so fed up now having to charge at least 3 times a day.
Any help?

My S6 full battery drained last night. I suspected it might have been due to voLTE4g (wifi calls) that I started to use on friday with connection to the well-working 4g+ by the service provider.

Is that a feasible explanation somehow?

Before this, my S6 with all recent system updates has worked flawlessly for half a year. Also the wifi calls have worked fine, except that a couple of times when making a call the call has not progressed, the S6 telling me that the call is being made but my friends tell there was no sign of a call on their phones.

That's probably a carrier problem. The S6 can't know whether the carrier's switch actually selected a line and placed the call.

As far as the battery drain, back everything up, install Wakelock Detector or, if your phone isn't rooted, read Wakelock detector with non-rooted phone. See what's waking the phone up most - that's probably the culprit. (If you have a few things waking it, they may all be culprits.)

Or check the battery stats in Settings, to see what's using most of the battery. (If it's Google or Android, that's normal, and if you have the screen on a lot, that uses a lot of battery too.)

Once you know what's causing it, you can figure out how to deal with it.

sorry to say im experinced the exact same problem updated to nouget was ok but about a week ago there was another update and battery drain was horendos deleted all apps and even reset to factory and no better ended up having to roll back to marshmallow will disable updates for a wee while tilll there been a new release update from the current version

Yes, indeed. So no battery draining in my case, but connection problems, accidentally (possibly) with the updates. I managed to test this at the location by arranging some reflections of gsm waves by building rugged metal reflectors (made of kitchen folio), i.e. by diffuse scattering.
