You need to go into the sync settings and disable contact syncing.
It would be better to go to edit contacts and join said contacts. Removing syncing will keep contacts from saving properly and you will have no backup.

I finally got an answer from VZW and I feel like an idiot. I just needed to turn on DATA roaming. It can be found at Settings>Battery & data manager>Data delivery. Then just check the box next to data roaming and say ok when it asks you if you are sure.![]()
Are these apps being transferred to your SD card. If so donot transfer. I had the same issue but I think it has to do with where the phone is placing the file. Actually there really is no need to transfer (if that is what you did) to SD card. There is more than enough memory on the phone.Got my FIRST Bionic on thursday morning, by Sat I was so frustrated I threatened Verizon with an internet splash. The phone had three MAJOR problems: 1) the phone would shut itself down and could not be restarted until you removed/replaced the battery. 2) the phone would reboot itself 15 minutes after being shutoff by me in the normal manner., 3) It drops apps. by that I mean I would install apps and use them aok. A few hours later the apps were gone and had to be reinstalled. All these apps worked perfectly well on my DROID2.
I think 1) and 2) are actual phone problems, and 3) is a software glitch that MU*ST be corrected by Motorola/Verizon. After 3 emails and two phone conversations, Verizon stated they believed I had a bad phone and should return it to the store for a new replacement. I did so, and so far after 2 days with my 2nd new Bionic, problems 1) and 2) have not recurred, but.......3) is still present. In a brief search of the internet and forums, it would appear that dropping apps by Bionic is present in a number of cases, indicating that all apps are not compativle with Bionic systems. This is disconcerting as my son's Droid and my DROID2 had virtually no problems. Lesson learned, I guess I should have waited 3-6 months for someone else to do the beta testing for Motorola/Verizon.
Except for the 3 frustrations, the phone is great and will be even greater with the bugs fixed.
Like most of you, I waited patiently for this phone. Picked one up on sept 8. Returned it on sept 13. Here are reasons why:
1. When browsing the internet, in the middle of reading an article, the phone blacks out. I have to press the switch on top.
2. Other times while on the internet, the phone is not responding, no matter which keys I push.
3. Call quality is not consistently good. I've had 2 different people tell me I sounded like I was under water or in a cave, sounding muffled.
4. Graphics are at times shaky and not transitioning smoothly between screens.
For $300, this phone shouldn't have these basic problems. I enjoyed the dual core speed and verizon's 4G. But am not willing to commit myself through 2 years of sub-par performing, expensive phone when I know there are better ones coming out....just have to be a little bit more patient.
I bought the original motorola droid 2 yrs ago, and had hoped the bionic was the replacement phone. Sadly, it disappointed me and had to let it go!
Ugh to even compare this phone to the garbage that was my BB Tour is a disgrace...
