Major Evo problem...please help

I hadn't turned my Evo on for a couple days but when I pressed the power button today, I got only one very large white stripe down the right side of the phone. Nothing else would show up on the screen. I removed the battery and replaced it and tried again, same result.

There's no damage to the screen that I can see and the phone has not gotten wet.

Sounds almost like a hardware issue. You tried to hold down the power button and then the volume down button to see if it would go to the bootloader, did you?

That weird. Try his suggestions if its rooted. If not then just take it in to the store.
