Making the phone sleep/turning off the screen

The only way I know of to turn off the screen (without waiting for the idle timer) is to short-press the power button. Is there a quicker/easier way to make the screen turn off? I hate having to press the Power button for anything other than powering off or restarting the phone. I'd love it if there was "an app for that"....

Try Shake Screen-On.

Edit--sorry, I think this app only turns the screen on with a shake. Let me see if there's one that will turn it off with a shake.

Thanks, I didn't know these apps existed. I installed Screen Off by icillin because it had the tiniest footprint I could find...
