Android Central Question

Hello, I have bought 2 china tablets telling me software installed is Andorid ver. 6.0

My problem is they are both infected, they keep popping stuff up on the screen. I have several times tried to factory reset and delete everything. And even that I dont install other Things on the computer it happens again in less than 1 day.

I have been under settings and uninstalled apps that shouldent be there… but the day after its installed again.

I also tried to install programs that should fix that, but they dosent help me either.

The tablets is my kids, and they dont wanna use the tablet cause they keep getting the pop ups and stopping what ever they do.

There is no upgrade for this tablet, and I dont know if there is a backdoor that just goes in and do stuff without me knowing.

Could I root it and maybe put some other android software on the tabelt ? Would that be possible or even help me ?

Kind regards Nicolas

Maybe, but then again maybe not. You don't mention which devices specifically but low-volume devices don't typically get support from the 3rd-party ROM community.

I understand desires to save money, but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to these things. When you buy the cheap Chinese devices you lose Play Store support (China doesn't allow the Play Store) and the hardware itself is likely low-end.

So now I am a member :-)
Yes I know sometimes its stupid to save Money and buy china models... but I was just thinking they only use them to Watch movies, what can go wrong. But I guess alot… I am normaly a IPhone/Ipad guy…. :-)

What info do you need to be able to learn more ?

I can't quite tell what device that is. Someone else might have more insight but my original post holds that using anything but what's on it will be difficult as you can't get a build specifically for the device.

But isent it strange, that its like the software on it just comes with Virus/malware no matter what I do ?
Shouldent a full factory reset and delete everything ? And still I get stuff on even I dident install anything ? :-(

Anyone have a suggestion for an app program that can actually clean my tablet and keeping it from beeing infected again ? Have tried alt of free stuff with no luck :-D

Help me plz :-)

I tried to Google that model number and nothing comes up, so I have no idea what brand that thing is.

Seeing as it's a cheap Chinese no name tablet, and you've got virus/malware after a factory reset, it's a safe bet the malware is built into Android itself on that device.

You can't get rid of it.

Anti Malware/Virus

Hello, is there any android apps that can keep my tablet clean from malware/virus without having pop ups, messages and stuff… just a program that know whats it does in the background ?

I would like suggestions from paid apps and free apps.
Maybe pros and cons.

I have a bad china tablet and its born with malware/virus and hope to fix it.

Thanks so much :-)

Re: Anti Malware/Virus

If it came with malware installed at the factory (not unheard of with those cheap knockoff devices), then my advice would be to ditch it and get a new one with a good reputation. Anti-virus and anti-malware apps are not needed much on Android due to the nature of the OS. As long as you don't browse sketchy websites, give others unfettered access to it, or install apps from questionable sources (especially piracy sites), the chances of getting infected are slim to none. If you are infected from the factory, then it may already be too late for anti-malware type apps, I wouldn't be surprised if they are not able to remove the problem, and it's likely the malware will keep coming back via system updates.

Re: Anti Malware/Virus

It's likely that the malware is installed as system apps, so the deice would have to be rooted to remove them to start with.

My other post with Picture of the apps and tablet model number :
Could be any of you Guys know what to do... I would prefer to keep the tablets, even they where only 100 $ each, they are just good at watching movies for my kids :-)

I looked the other thread over, and my original advice is still the same, it's not likely worth it to try getting the malware off and really the best thing to do is get a name brand device.

For cheap knockoff devices, it's not strange at all to have factory malware installed. In that case, a factory reset would not remove it because the malware is part of the factory programming. Similar to how factory resetting results in bloatware being reinstalled.

Yup. One word of caution though is that they send them pre registered to your Amazon account. If you are going to give a new one away, boot up and deregister it first.
