Android is new to me since i bought a Xoom. (and yes, i like it and NO i don't want an IPad)
How do you manage your media files on the Xoom?
Things like creating playlists etc. I know i can manually add files to playlits on the xoom, but there has to be a better way. It is terribly cumbersome and slow when i have hundreds of songs. Is there a method on a PC that can be transferable or a drag and drop system on the Xoom?
What frustrates me the most is when i add a podcast (in the podcast directory on the xoom), it picks it up like music and will play those along with songs if I do a shuffle.
Maybe there is a much better player out there, if so, please feel free to suggest.

thanks

For the love of all things music, I swear Microsoft could increase their Zune subscription base 10 fold if they just released an android app that'd talk to the zune desktop software.

Try doubletwist (doubleTwist); kind of like iTunes for Android... I use the paid version, which allows you to sync wirelessly, otherwise you need to connect to the PC via USB. Allows you to sync your whole library, or just playlists; also for podcasts, video, etc - pretty much like iTunes...

Is the wireless sync faster than the USB sync? On my Droid X it took way too long, so I avoided using it. I just drag and drop my files now.

I used the USB (free) version originally (to sync my 16GB of iTunes library), and now just 'update sync' using wireless. Haven't done side by side speed comparisons, but it's fast enough for how I use it - typically sync over dinner, and it's always done by the time I get back to it...

I've been trying to use doubletwist and my xoom will not get recognized by doubletwist at all! I tried having the app open on the xoom, app open/closed on my mac and reinstalling both applications.. I've only tried the USB Method

Can someone post a quick rundown on how to get it working or could someone tell me a good way to manage itunes on the xoom? i'm slowly starting to love mine but not being able to use the music player makes the experience feel incomplete...

I tried instinctiv but the app wont install on the xoom...

(Sad Face) for not having my music on here haha

use isyncr, allows u to use itunes to sync. I personally hate itunes and like drag and drop, and with google music coming really soon, u will be able to store all your music in the cloud and access it from the music app and not use any of ur 32gb for music.

I would love to manage my apps with the Zune desktop, I think the desktop software is pretty sexy... but makes no sense if I can't sync it with anything

Sync Zune Pass Songs to Droid X - Android Forums

also there is an app called translatum that supposedly works, havent tried it personally though, i no longer use zune or itunes as i dl most of my music directly from my phone using tunee.

I wasn't able to get that work around to work for me, bummer.

I wish Microsoft would just make a legit Zune client. Google's market policies aren't as crazy as apples so they could probably just do it.

As far as getting double twist to work especially on a Mac check the database on the help area of their (double twist) website. It is a matter of having the right bonjour on your desktop. As far as the wireless versus USB sync it is about the same speed the biggest thing is how fast the program recognizes the devices. It has gotten much better since day one when I first started using airsync.
