Manually Apply 2.0.1 Update WORKING

Where does the file go on the SD Card? Is the file an like an executable that installs the patch and the can be deleted? Or is the file an actual "patch"?

I'm pretty sure you can delete the file once you have updated your phone.

After about 5 min of trying got the update installed and the phone is running great. Still the same issue with wifi and vvm

Just drag and drop like you said in your earlier post.

Ok did that...Its on the card and not in any of the other folders. I've tried renaming the downloaded file both "update" and "update.zip" and I am still getting the same message:

--Install from sdcard...
finding update package...
opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted

Er so if I understand correctly I will rename

signed-voles-ESD56-from-ESD20.84263456.zip

to simply

update

and I'm going to place it in the root directory of the SD cared. Correct?

Sorry... I'm a noob to smart phones and manual updates. Thanks~

Yes just rename it from you computer then drag it over to your sd card.

Yes that is correct then follow the remaining steps as listed in the post.

I am getting the same error. (Stupid question: Is the file name cap sensitive? update vs Update)

I used safari to download onto my mac and just updated super quick. whoohoo! nerts to waiting 24 more hours and then hoping to be in the first group of 200k to get the update.

when you are renaming the file, if your extensions are hidden (ie you don't see a .zip at the end of the file before you rename it)

don't change it to update.zip then, just change it to update

if your extensions are hidden, changing it to update.zip actually makes a file called update.zip.zip which could be what's messing it up.

and as far as case, it's worked for me with lowercase "update"

I tried with safari 6 or 7 times and got the same message error. Then I tried downloading it with Firefox and got it to work on the first try. Safari was downloading a entire folder while Firefox downloaded a single .zip file.
