Manually Apply 2.0.1 Update WORKING

Thanks sooo much!!!! Installed and works great. Do you know if the OTA coming out later this week will work or is this the OTA that's coming out?

Thanks a bunch!! that was much easier and faster then updating a blackberry, I was done and I would still be backing up my storm.

I get this error:

E: Can't open /cache/recovery/command

Anybody have any idea's?

Try re-naming the file to "update" and see if that works.

Didn't see the post above but renaming worked for me.

Renaming the file to "update" will fix the problem as previously said. If you manually renamed it to update.zip the phone reads the file name as update.zip.zip

Edit: Must give credit to those on AllDroid.org for the tip on renaming the file.

I have a mac... no idea how to do this. This is what I did...

Plugged in the phone to the macbook.
downloaded the file.
clicked and dragged the file onto the phone folder.
and followed the rest of the directions....

I know I am doing something wrong.

It seems they didn't fix the issue with visual voicemail syncing on wifi. Is anyone else having that issue?

Did it continue installing or did it hang up at that point? Did u rename the zipfile just "update"?

You have to rename the file "update" other then that you did everything correct

Where are you getting stuck at?

I believe you need to open the keyboard and use the keypad to move the highlight to the second option. Seems like this was the message that popped up after I hit volume+ and the camera key. I don't think you have told the phone to actually use the update file.
