Manually update your phone to DI07

The update didn't go through because i didn't have sprintzone.apk during the check. I'm rooted and have the default apk, how can i copy it to system/app? It seems to be read only though i managed to delete it... thanks in advance for your help.

I just did this and lost audio feedback on swype keyboard. I tried toggling on and off; rebooting the phone, etc. I can't seem to get it back.

Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it?

Same happened to me. This applies to SWYPE and the Android keyboard as well. Oh well, I don't really mind though.

So far so good.

I moved the update to the SD card and then powered off and reboot as directed. Update installed however I noticed it stated "Checking for system updates..." after rebooting for about 10 mins or so. I pressed the home screen and all seemed well. Phone operating as normal thus far.

yeah, toss it. not needed once you've flashed it. I got the update OTA today actually right as I drove into a 4G area.

I received the update from the stream, and I too lost audible feedback on keyboard (both swype and android). I have also heard others complain about the market not working properly after this update, and that we need to wait for Google to fix things (Sprint screwed up apparently).

I too don't really mind the loss of audible feedback.

Well I think its time to take my epic back. Nothing seems to work. I cant get it to update, I cant get it to use ANY one clicks NOTHING. I have factory reset it so many times my finger tips have volume down/power/camera buttons ingrained into them.

I love this phone to death but this updating issues are really starting to piss me off.


EDIT: Please disregard. Unusual stress level lately and I got most of it working.

Well maybe this was a good thing after all. After my 15th or so factory reset I one click rooted and clockwork just for kicks and both worked. Going to try the update but probably wont work.

edit: Still no update. I guess Its not all that bad as I really wouldn't use media hub anyways. Now if this effects my 2.2 upgradability Ill be pretty upset. But until I get there I wont stress over it.

I have a new epic that I paid $500. for and it will not update at all? It's still got the DG17 and it says it's up to date and no new updates are available. Sprint is no help at all. And on the sprint site it says the ota update to DGi07 will only work if you allready have DG27. It says you have to go to a repair center to get it updated to DG27 and the nearest one is 2 hours away. So will this work from DG17, and do I have to restore to factory settings if I haven't changed anything accept a couple installed apps from the market? Will I be able to get ota updates in the future if I do this? Can you restore if this messes things up? Thanks for the help ahead of time. I want to make sure my phones not going to be stuck with old software otherwise I'm going to return it hopefully to see if I can get a new one or an EVO.

It will fail becay dg17 doesn't have amazon mp3. Try downloading it from market and try updating it.

Seriously, does anyone have the dg27 update.zip..? I have googled this to no end and don't see it anywhere on the web. Why would samsung be so stupid in doing it this way?!?

The file on that post is a rom for DI07, the 9/16 release. Not the one we're waiting for. At the end of that thread "Whosdaman" claims he will have the new update DI18 later today or tomorrow.

I posted how to update from DI07 just a little bit ago. What Whosdaman posts is a full file. You flash that using Odin, not update.zip.

If your trying to update from an early version of Eclair then you can do so by using the procedure #2 from the thread below. I've had users do this before and it has been very successful.

I am running the (super buggy) eh17, rooted etc, and the eh06 modem. I've cleaned out most of the Sprint Apps forever ago... i know its a bit of a nub question, but where can i get a stock rom to odin my device with so that i can get the ota update? (then wait for a root...)

Otherwise, any idea til there is a rooted 'official' build that i can odin to my epic?
