Is it me or is Google maps incredibly slow to load? especially in satellite mode. sometimes can take a minute or more to load.

How strong is your network signal? What setting do you have location settings on? If it's on device only, it'll take longer than if you had it set to high accuracy.

Are you on Kitkat as I don't have "location settings" as such.

Yes, I am on Kit Kat, but you should still have something that lets you change what has access to your location. Go to settings > personal > location and see if there's an option for the GPS there.

Makes no difference Gps/Wifi location on or off, still very slow sometimes fails to load at all unless I zoom or scroll which seems to bump it.
