Looks like the marketing campaign for the Bionic is ramping up!

Weeee!

The ad you see above was on a wall behind some Plexiglass, advertising the stadium's own Verizon hangout (it's on Field Level, if you want to swing by). And, sure enough, there's everybody's favorite over-hyped phone, with Mr. Met, to boot.

Thanks Jet300! :D

I guess so. But to the average consumer do you want to see ads for something you can buy at a future date (exact date is still unknown) or something you can buy now? Most people aren't going to remember this ad a month from now.

As I said a long time ago, I wouldn't be surprised if they do a ramp up/count down type campaign like they did with the OG Droid back in 2009, instead of waiting until after the phone comes out like they have done with everything since. Looks like I was right :p This phone is a very big deal for both Verizon and Motorola for many reasons, the most important of which we haven't even really discussed: This will be (most likely) Verizon's first flagship release since they switched to tiered data plans.

Your welcome!

I literally took a double take when I saw the ad. I was hanging around the field level concourse after the game (bathroom run) when I saw the ad. In fact there was two of them about 6 feet from each other. At first I thought it was a LG Revolution because of the 4G but then I saw Moto on the device and I'm staring at it like a loon thinking DX2. It just didnt look right to me. I'm thinking this has to be the Bionic. Sure enough I look at the other sign and there is the caption "DROID Bionic by Motorola".

I immediately though of this place and everyone here and whipped out my DX and took the pics. I sent them to Phil after I got home about an hour later.

I saw a couple more adverts with the Bionic on the way out. Strange that there was the only one captioned as a Bionic. If VZW wanted to push the Bionic they sure weren't doing to good. To the general public the phone looks like yet another generic black slab.

The ad was was for a contest held by VZW and MLB At Bat 2011. You had to go to the VZW gallery on the field level to check in to enter. This wasn't an option because the gallery was closed already. Wish I saw the ad sooner because for all I know they had Bionics on display there... :-\ Yeah ok! LOL

I think I'm the only one noticing that the important thing here is Mets Game attendance. If you look at the reflection, there seems to be no one there behind the picture taker in the stands on the opposite side of the field. We need to forget the Bionic and get into Mets Attendance.

Maybe thats why?

Oh, maybe, but ... well, just maybe.

No maybes, just the truth :) My family and I never leave quickly as to avoid the parking lot rush (still lots of traffic with only 25K in attendance). We usually saunter out slowly, hit the museum, check in one last time with my Dad's memorial fanwalk brick, then my son usually runs the Shea Stadium bases in the parking lot before we finally get get to the car.

When I took the pic the place was empty. If there were 10 people in the section of the concourse it was a lot.
