I just got a Mate 20 Pro and have a Sennheiser Presence bluetooth headset that I use for making hands free calls. The Mate 20 Pro connects to the headset and I can even hear sound through it when I play music or video, however, it does not connect when making calls. The call function on the Mate 20 Pro shows me that it's connected through a bluetooth device for making the call while it's dialling but it continues to use the handset earpiece instead of the bluetooth headset.
It is definitely an issue with the phone because I also have the same issue with a pair of Sony WI-1000X bluetooth headphones where I can hear music and video but when trying to make calls it won't connect even though it says that it is.
I've gone in to bluetooth settings and can see that headsets have Call Audio connected so don't know what else to change.
What is strange is that it is working through my car bluetooth.
Help please! I really need to use my headset for making calls.
