I'm thinking your right, yes.

Seems like the file size of this update is between 600 to 700 MB. I've never paid attention to the file sizes of updates until this year. The first two updates for Snapdragon models were around 1500 MB. I'm thinking as the phone has been around more, the file size of the updates go down as there are less security updates than when it first comes out. Other than a new UI being installed.

Sorry, where did you see that yesterday for unlocked phones? My unlocked S22U on TMB is not getting it, nor is that listed yet for TMB or any other carrier on Frija or Sammobile, nor has anyone in this thread mentioned getting that.

One thing that's funny is when I check for updates (on my S22 Ultra) it immediately says your software is up to date without even contacting the server, i. e., no spinning wheel. My unlocked S21 (on AT&T) contacts the server every time. Is this normal?

I was going off what was posted on Reddit, but you may be right that just the locked carrier phones have gotten the update so far. I say that because in the last 24 hours I haven't seen anyone with an unlocked model saying they got the update.

Backward from my experience with my Pixel 4xl, it always seemed like the unlocked received the update before the locked phones. And even with Samsung it sounds backward since unlocked doesn't have to be loaded with provider "garbage."

After further research, all locked carrier S22 devices appear to have received the update. As of now none of the unlocked devices have, though.

Some AT&T locked devices have not received it. Sammobile says my software, AVCJ, with security update of April 1st is the latest.
