But my M8 has been even running even faster than when I first got it. Transitions between apps are just so fluid and lag free.

I tried the LG G3 but it's just not the same. HTC realy went the extra mile with this phone and while it's easy to always look at the next best thing I can't see moving on from this phone for a long while.

I even started using mine without a case. True it is slippery but I believe a case just ruins the experience a little. I've even convinced 3 upgraders at work to go with the M8 and they also love it (mostly for the awesome battery life).

Duribility is great too. I've dropped this baby on the screen and there's nary a scratch to be found.

There's a ton of options out there but I'm happy with my choice. Until the M9 of course

It was using the g3 that made the one m8 seem even more fluid and fast. The g3 is really poor in comparison!

I agree, HTC have done wonders. It runs faster and more smoothly than my nexus 5 did which is a bonus and I haven't even had to speed up the animations in developer settings

I have never used a device (high-end iOS devices) that is as fluid, smooth, snappy, and lag-free as the HTC One M8, and of course the HTC One M7 at the time. HTC does an incredible job with their Sense interface, and when you compare it to Samsung's TouchWiz, for instance, it's light years ahead in terms of performance. My sister has a Samsung Galaxy S5 and ever since the day she bought it the performance has been poor. Sure, the waterproof feature is nice, but she never actually benefited from it. When I use her phone and then use mine, I can definitely feel the difference in speed and responsiveness, and HTC's true-color display is quite beautiful to look at.

To be honest I wish I could use it without a case and I'm a guy who takes care of his devices very well, but I'm afraid anything could happen and it could fall so I cannot take that risk. I had the M7 for two years with cases on, and the day I removed the case I dropped it on its screen and it got shattered, which is why I made the transition to the M8 in the first place.

Did you ever see old Sense? The HTC incredible for example. Used to eat SO much memory. They have done a fantastic job at gutting sense out and trimming it down. Sense 6 is very enjoyable. My last Android was the Galaxy Nexus and I loved having stock android. Sense 6 doesn't feel horribly far from that, it feels like a tuned stock with extra useful features, and I can live with that
