Maybe something other than an S25?

I am considering updating from my Verizon S-22 Ultra which I switched to from a Pixel when the S-22 came out. I have liked the S-22 but wonder about this. I found I never use the S-Pen. Wanting to stay with Samsung, is there another similarly capable Samsung phone I should consider that does not have the S-Pen? I don't mind that it is there, I just never use. Well, once in a rare while it pops out for no apparent reason but that is not a big deal, I just pop it back in. Thanks.

Why don't you just get the S25+? It's practically the same phone with no spen. I would compare those 2 and see if the difference are a deal breaker.

S25 edge?
Thanks. I will look closer but the camera and battery on both of these are the two main things I think are not as good as the Ultra. I may just stay with the Ultra and ignore the S-Pen as I have been doing with my S-22U.

I have gotten the ultra for things as bigger screen, bigger battery, ect.. I've never gotten the ultra or note series for the spen, I use it maybe once or twice a year only because I remembered it's there and used it. The plus is pretty close to the ultra now days with a few differences, so if those little differences are what you want then get the ultra. The spen is there out of the way, won't be a bother. All phones have features you won't use, the spen is no different.

If the pen pops out and you don't use it, just keep it out and stash it. It provides zero water protection, only dust but that's irrelevant since you won't use the pen anyway.

If you're constantly using or checking your phone, the Fold , not flip, is a viable alternative.

Personally unless Samsung starts doing better I'm switching back to Pixel SOLELY for the unlockable bootloader and run something custom.

That said, the S22U's battery sucked but how much do you have left at the end of the day? If you're in the 30-40% range the S25+ will be plenty despite the smaller battery but more efficient SoC.

Makes sense. The screen size between the choices is not a deal breaker. I would be OK with any of them. The camera is very important to me. The camera specs seem quite less capable on the Plus but maybe the differences don't add up to as much in real use as on paper.

Usually at end of day I have 20 to 40% battery left. But some days I will get low battery alert and need to charge it some to get through. I thought of just taking the pen out but that open hole concerned me.

Thanks all. I am glad I posted. With the limited number of times the S-Pen pops out on it's own I can just deal with it like I have been for 3 years. If there was a phone with the camera and battery of the Ultra, a slightly smaller screen size, and no S-Pen, that would be where I would go. But given the cholces staying with the Ultra makes sense. If it was not for so many saying phone prices are about to go up by $1,000.00, I probably would not move for a year or so more at least. The S-22 Ultra still works for me but my wife thinks why wait if we will have to pay that much more in a few months. Any future tellers here? ;)

Just a thought. Get some electrical tape or similarly rubbery tape and wrap it around towards the end of the pen once without overlap and see if you can wedge it in. Maybe even a few layers of regular tape would do the same. Just enough that the internal latch still catches but the pen can't wiggle itself free.

Battery, that is in line with me for the S23U though the S25U has been phenomenal on battery. In your case if you don't have a place for a quick top-off you might be an Ultra person. Though SuperFast Charging 2.0 does too the battery up fast enough. Final thought on battery, wait for the S26 series. It's said Samsung is either going with a new battery type or a larger one.

Phone prices going up, who knows. That's politics and we don't do that here. It's possible they will go up but unlikely that much IMO, they will sooner pull out the market like John Deere did. Samsung almost always has at least decent trade-in offers. Most carriers still do promos of some sort. Best Buy occasionally has deals too.

And now I return you to your regularly scheduled programing.
