MediaPad M3 - Same hardware as Mate 9, where is the Oreo update, Huawei?

Mate 9 just got an update to Oreo.
I think all of us MediaPad M3 users need to hound Huawei USA via Twitter and other social media platforms to give us the Oreo update for this superb tablet as well. I mean after all the hardware is pretty identical, right?

Great idea! I already emailed them and they pretty much said it was dead, maybe we can convince them to update it? Should be pretty simple, because as you said, the Mate 9 got Oreo.

False. The M3 processor, alone, is the 950 Kirin, while the Mate 9 is the 960 (ARM-Cortex A72 vs. A73), and the camera hardware is different (8 vs 12 MP), and the external drive supported sizes are different (128 vs 256 GB), the Wi-Fi, cellular and bluetooth radios are different hardware, and the connectivity hardware (micro-USB vs USB-C) are just a few examples.

I make this point, because those individuals looking for help from Android Central with their devices often make decisions based on comments, here. This could be a potentially misleading comment that the "hardware is PRETTY identical" - not so much, ... no.
