Android Central Question

I'm getting a "File System Limit" message on my phone. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've only had my phone for about 3 months and I get this message that will not go away. I took it to an AT&T store and even they haven't seen it before. I have 32G of storage remaining. The message also reads "Too many files have been created on your phone. Apps may stop working correctly and your phone may no longer start up. Back up any important data and factory reset your phone."

Hello. If i am in the wrong place or doing this wrong please firgu e and i struct. This is my very first time here.
I too hsve gotten that same ereor message. Just atarted maybe a week ago. I have a samsung A10E. I hate this phone it has been the worst phone i have ever owned. Its glitchy its slow it freezes up all the time. Sometimes it refuses to make phone calls it answer them. And now this.
I am so frustrated i could scream. My concern is that my really will just not start up one of these days. I can ignore the message as long as i know my phone isn't qoing to die.
Does anyone have anything dedinative regarding this error? Do i have to worry my phone will sir if i ignore the error? I have done everything. I have stripped. everything off it. I have removed all my personal stuff. and i have erased or deleted everything that isnt nailed down. And still it persists.
Thanks for any help i can get. I hope someone has an answer

Re: File system limit??????

The file size limit should be 4GB. That's an Android limit and can only be changed by starting with AOSP and redeveloping it. (And no single developer at Google would tackle that task - that's a team effort.)

I'm getting a "File System Limit" message on my phone

I'm getting a "File System Limit" message on my phone, it says "Too many files have been created in your phone. Apps may stop working correctly and your phone may no longer start up. Back up any important data and factory reset your phone"

It's been like that for a week now, all apps are working correctly, my phone does start up, and i still have 4 GBs of storage left. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy J4 Core, I've deleted all videos and images but it keeps showing up, what can I do to fix it?

I've tried the Long press on the notification, but it doesn't work for me, I've downloaded GPU-Z and it says my GPU Vendor is Qualcomm, what can i do now?

Only 1 app has stopped working correctly, and it's YouTube, which keeps stopping even if I'm not using it, what should i do?

Looking up the general specs on your phone,
https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_j4_core-9397.php
it apparently does have some inherent issues that you should take into account, chiefly it is running a modified version of Android so when it comes to general usability it 'might' run into problems that are more or less unique. Android Go is a highly tweaked variant of Android, with lots of optimizations made at a firmware level so it will run more smoothly on low-spec devices.

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/201...-scattershot-attempt-at-a-low-end-android-os/
I have no clue if that 'File System Limit' message you're seeing is in any way relative to the fact that Go is modified or if it's just matter of there is some issue where there's an over-abundance of files residing in your phone's internal storage. The latter isn't likely as ext4, the file system your phone's internal storage is formatted with, can actually handle file counts in the billions:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext4
so there's probably some kind of Go-related limitation involved. (Keep in mind, that 'too many files' reference is not just about how many files/documents you have saved on your phone, nor how many apps you might have installed. You also need to realize the installed operating system itself is made up of literally millions of individual 'files', plus every app relies upon its own config and settings files, which may consist of only a handle of files or thousands depending on how complex the functionality of the app. So there's an issue of the 'total' number of files that might be in question. Also, don't factor in file size as being notable in any way. A video file might be GBs in size and a text file just a few KBs, but they are both 'files'.)

Offhand, this 'file system limit' message is puzzling and I'd attribute it to Go but that's just idle speculation. It's something of a hassle but back up your files and data, do a Factory Reset, and restore your files and data and see if that makes any difference.
You might want to try using Samsung's Smart Switch utility to do the backup and restore. You can use it to make a full back up of your user account and data, and it makes doing a restore a lot easier than manually copying files back and forth. There is a caveat though, your particular phone model nor Android Go is listed in the site's compatibility listing:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...%2Fowners%2Fapp%2Fsmart-switch&token=1iK1FKFZ
If Smart Switch doesn't work with your phone, it's still really important you have some kind of backup solution implemented anyway. If there are files and such that only exist on your phone, that's a big risk as any smartphone just isn't a good source for long-term storage of data. The OS can get corrupted or the phone itself being so portable is prone to theft or loss so backups are important.

How do I fix the "File System Limit" without doing a factory reset?

Hi. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and today, I received a warning about how I have too many files created. I deleted some app and I have 2 gigs of free space but the warning is still there. How do I fix this without having to do a factory reset?

Too many files created?
I just wonder what the maximum of "File System Limit" is. :)
