[MEGATHREAD] How do I turn on "Connect to URL"

A

AC Question

When sent a web address via text message, I cannot connect to it and instead get the message above. However, when I go to 'settings' on my LGG2, there is no option to turn on URL. Can anyone help me to be able to open web pages sent via text?

Welcome to Android Central! This has been asked quite a few times. Open your Messaging app, tap Menu>Settings, and see if there's an option to turn on Connect to URL there.

Re: How to turn on URL

I wouldn't recommend doing it for THAT reason. Usually when you try to get something for nothing you actually end up getting more than you bargained for with excessive ads.

If you MUST - here's a search suggestion as this is asked in here A LOT: in google type
turn on url site:forums.androidcentral.com
You will see just how many times that question is asked in various forms.

Re: How do I connect my pho a to url

Ever see that show "I get that a lot"? Yeah, that applies to this question, we get it, A LOT.

In fact - here's one I answered 3 weeks ago, with some links to previous posts about the same topic - https://forums.androidcentral.com/a...turn-connect-url-text-messages-my-stylo5.html

Re: How do I Connect to url in settings?

On my old Telstra Signature (an LG phone) it only takes 7 steps!!
1. Tap Messages Icon
2. If only one message thread shows, at bottom of screen, tap <
3. Tap menu (3 vertical dots at top of screen)
4. Tap “Settings”
5. Under “Advanced” tap “More”
6. Tap “Link & send”
7. “Connect to URL” – move button to right

Life was not meant to be this complicated!
