So I know there was one post already related to this but no solution in that thread has worked, nor has any solution posted on various websites.

I wish I could just disable LG IMS as the frame work contributes to features of my phone I simply don't use, however I cannot find the place to do so nor the IP type most websites tell me to. Like I said I have a Stylo 4 so that may be the issue.

I also doubt it has to do with any particular app as a factory reset did not fix it.

I am at my wits end so either a detailed guide for disabling it or any other fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Then make sure Wi-Fi calling is also turned on with Cellular priority. Then goto apps and then clear data for com.lge.ims.rcsprovider and clear cache for lg ims.

Just did all that in order.

"Unfortunately, LG IMS has stopped"

Continues. LG G4 "thinq" or however they spell on gatdam T-Mobile useless

Not bricked yet.

EDIT

The solution

put the phone on airplane mode.

Then

Force stop/clear data from com.lge.ims.rcsprovider

This makes is stop, but phone does not work

Then

go to phone, dial 277634#*# to access secret menu

Then

Go to IMS SETTINGS and switch IP VERSION to IPV4V6

Then restore phone functionality by switching airplane mode off.

Haven't seen the error since doing this.

Let me further add other non solutions I have tried. Please note I plugged my SIM card back in anf rebooted the phone after each attempt:

Took out my SIM and was able to access IMS settings in secret menu. First I changed from IPV6V4 to v4v6

Enabled debug with both v6v4 and v4v6

Disabled voLTE

Maybe one of these works for someone else!

if its an issue with the latest update is there a way we can go in and uninstall the last software update?

I haven't had a recent update. All of my auto updates are always disabled.

Interesting. I took my sim out and put it in my blackview phone since I have no call Ability now. Using the lg only on wifi now and no popups whatsoever. That tells me its on T-Mobiles side.

5 minutes in and I haven't seen a pop up! I had Wi-Fi on and Wi-Fi calling turned on, but had to change it to Cellular priority. Then clearing the data and cache for those two apps seems to have done the trick!

Thank you!

I went to Apps/notifications -> app info -> three dots -> Show Sytem -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> storage
I cleared the the data.

I did this fix on my LG Aristo 2 plus, 3 times. The 1st 2 times it would reset each time I tried to delete data and cache. The third time I deleted data again and left it open rather than returning to storage to verify that data was deleted. I closed the app after the notice stopped popping up. It has been 45 minutes, phone and text works with wifi and without wifi. Also I have a LG G7 Thinq and this phone was not effected at all. I sure hope this helps!

I think this worked... I'm at like 2 minutes with no pops. I had wi-fi calling turned off earlier today... oh, thank you!!!!!

Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Then make sure Wi-Fi calling is also turned on with Cellular priority. Then goto apps and then clear data for com.lge.ims.rcsprovider and clear cache for lg ims.

I have a Stylo 5 and i did the suggestion using settings. I have so far not seen one pop up at all. Go tp settings>general (or if your 4 is anything like the 5 i have the minute you click on the settings you will already be in general settings)>apps &notifications>app info. Once you are in the App Info section look in the upper right hand corner for 3 dots and then click on them. When you click on them you will then click on show system. Now you will scroll until you find either com.lge.lms or com.lge.ims.rcsprovider. In my phone it was the com.lge.ims.rcsprovider (as a reminder i have a lg stylo). Once you find this click on it and then click storage and the final click is to click on clear cache. This should make your pop ups stop once and for all at least until the cache needs to be cleared again. Hope this helps you

Issue: "LG IMS KEEPS STOPPING"

Device: LG G6

Carrier: T-Mobile

This just started today. I found the following steps worked, at least for now. I had to do these steps 3 or 4 times. Hope this helps.

- Disable Wi-Fi
- Enable Airplane mode.
- Go to Settings > General > Apps & Notifications > App info.
- tap 3-dots icon (upper-right).
- tap Show System.
- tap com.lge.ims.rcsprovider.
- tap Force Stop.
- tap Storage.
- tap each Clear Data and Clear Cache.

- Restart device and enable Wi-Fi if needed.

I went to Apps/notifications -> app info -> three dots -> Show Sytem -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> storage
I cleared the the data.
Has not popped since. Over an hour now.

This worked! Thank you! I had to do it 4 times, but it worked. I was on hold with LG for almost an hour, so glad to be done with the hold music. Thank You Thank You Thank You!

Having this same issue worth my mom's phone. Stylo 4 on T-Mobile. I've tried every suggestion listed and it's still happening, even after factory reset. This is maddening!

Re: Why does LG IMS keep stopping Aristo 5?

T Mobile most certainly causes bugs to pressure you to buy new phones. I have an older LG Aristo. Metro PCS over the years was big on this. I think it is time for a class action lawsuit. It is called planned obsolescence.

Hi, had some issue since this morning LG IMS stopped, very annoying, keep popping up every couple of minutes on my LG G7 Think Q.
I was able to fix it by turning off WIFI calling, I never use feature anyway, no error message for last 30 minutes.

I have a lg 30 thin Q and I have tried to clear the cache and turning off wifi calling and it still been a hassle it did not have this problem this morning until I awoke from a nap
