Menu: Settings: Applications: Manage Applications...

Ok so thanks to a previous post I discovered that I can go to pretty much all applications/programs within my device doing the above.. all apps/programs under this setting have a "clear cache" option.. IF I cleared a bunch of Cache from various apps would that be detrimental to my phone? Which ones should I absolutely stay away from or am I safe to delete away...?
