Message notification

An odd thing has been happening with one of my contacts. When they message me I get no sound notification or vibration. All my other contacts give notifications. Not sure how long this has been going on. I have deleted the contact and put it back in and no matter what it's the same.

not sure if there is a setting to control each contact's notification setting, i thought there was but can't find it...
I would reproduce the issue (have that contact message you and reproduce) then immediately report the error to samsung members app > get help > error report.
It could also be something from the carrier side, I have seen 'contact specific' issues due to carrier side error.

Check the Notification settings for your messaging app. If there are any exceptions set for a specific contact, you'll see it in the Notification categories. Then you can set the contact to your own settings or just remove the thread from there so it follows the general notification rules for the app.

I went into the notification categories and there are four choices to turn on, foreground, general, new mess, and this particular contact is one of the choices. I don't get why this one contact is listed and not all of them, wtf?

That contact is listed because it has personalized notification settings or has been marked as a custom conversation.

I checked that and there is nothing special selected. I do not have a contact that has anything special that's why I find this to be odd.
