MHL lead

i have recently bought a mhl cable and brought it home to connect with my s5 both devices recognise each other but nothing comes up on the tv. Is there a certain way of connecting both devices or should it mirror straight away. the cable is a simple cable which plugs into phone and staight into the tv.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that you put your TV in correct HDMI 1 or 2 source

Yeah i have double checked it with 2 tvs.. plugged the usb power source into one of the tvs and a plug with the other and its the same outcome..nothing displaying on the tv.

Hi back, there is port on the side of your MHL connect the phone wall charger the port then.
Connect your HDMI cable to the adapter then tell what will happen

Its not an adapter its just the one lead that has all the connections on it.

Do you have OEM Samsung MHL adapter you must have the 3rd generation MHL 2013 -2014 here's picture of which one you must have

Can see the picture..its not an offical one i have just one out a computer shop. Just a red cable with a mirco usb,hdmi and usb port on it. I think it must be faulty tried everything i can think of.
