I have a Samsung Galaxy note 3 and but a new 32mg microsdcard, turned off the phone and popped it in. One file folder says I have a total of 32 new megs of available new space, but Settings/Storage won't recognize it.

How can I fix it? If I have to reformat as some posts suggest, how would I back up my used (nearly 32 megs) already on it?

I hope you mean 32GB, not 32MB - I doubt the phone would actually be able to use a 32MB card. (MicroSD cards were never made in 32MB - that would be a full size SD card.)

You back everything up to a computer - but if the card isn't properly formatted, a computer won't recognize it either. If it is properly formatted (the only way you could have saved anything to it), the SD card port in the phone is probably bad (and has to be replaced).

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Galaxy S3 forum to the Note 3 forum.

When you go to the Settings>Storage menu, is there an option to Mount SD?
