Microsoft lifecam vx-3000 & Tab A

Hi,

I want to connect the microsoft lifecam vx-3000 to my Galaxy Tab-A to hopefully use it to take images through my telescope.
When I connect it through the right connecter (USB female-micro usb male) it comes up on the drop down screen that a usb has connected but that's it, I've tried the webeecam software, but again it doesn't seem to recognise it.
Just wondering if there's something I can do to get it to work.
