Migrating to new device SD

There are some threads that discuss migrating to new devices but not exactly what I am asking...

I am going from a DX to DB this week (hopefully). If I take my SD card from the old to the new device, when I install all of my apps again, will the new device find the data for the previous apps or will I have to wait until I am rooted to restore the data from the apps using Titanium?

I am also looking for the same type of info. Moving from a DX to Bionic as well (if I can score one this week). To add to the question, are there more tips that will make the transition smoother going from the DX to the bionic? I will be keeping my DX for a while to aid in the transition and if all goes well, last I checked Best Buy will give me a $121 gift card to trade in a DX which I will do once the transition is complete. So, a droid transition guide or step by step instructions greatly appreciated.

You'll have to root than restore using titanium backup. apps data is stored internally on the phone not sd card.

My Backup Pro works great!

Most of them will find data that is stored on the sdcard (ie downloaded images or other content many apps use, cache, etc). But the actual app data like logins, emails, etc usually are saved on the phone itself and not the sdcard, so those won't be found by the new phone unless you use one of those rooted backup apps like Titanium or MyBackup

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I'm changing my phone to a different manufactured phone...HTC Thunderbolt to Samsung Droid Charge...will I be able to use my sd card from my Thunderbolt in the Droid Charge without having to reformat it....
