Minor update for Verizon S5?

Great find. I hope more people chime in and report that it's more of an improvement than what is on Verizon's website(bloatware). Considering how much people ***** and moan its been very quiet. The download must not be in full swing yet.

It has been released. Verizon will roll it out in stages over the next days and weeks, unlike Samsung who release en masse from their huge, worldwide, servers. You could always download it from my previous link and flash it via Odin. See #1.11 of 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

The OD5 update for the Verizon model, G900V, has been released with a changelist #4782027

PDA: G900VVRU1BOD5 CSC: G900VVZW1BOD5 CHANGELIST: 4782027 BUILD DATE: 29.04.2015

Hopefully this will bring a whole host of fixes, such as Voice unlock, Mute toggle, Screen pinning, Alarm notification in silent mode, Wi-Fi and signal improvements, camera fixes, fully charged notification removed, as well as the all important performance and battery enhancements.

Just a note that I already have several of these features (first 4) prior to this new release. Looking forward to more/others though once this update reaches me.

Since Samsung are not responsible for the release of Verizon firmware, it is difficult for me to know which features have been added, removed or replaced in each firmware release from Verizon so I chose those from the stock Samsung releases in the last 6 months.

I just updated via kies. One thing I notice so far is opening camera from lock screen is super fast now. However the delay in gallery is still there. Will give you guys further update as I spend more time with this device for the next few days on battery life

That's unusual! Normally, Verizon firmware is only released by them OTA.

This is it. I updated via Kies

Updated yesterday via Kies, and so far this is a really good release from Verizon. Everything is running smooth as silk. It includes updates in addition to the 2 items listed by Verizon. Specifically, it includes the mute toggle as well as the alarm notifications when in mute/silent mode. Unlike some folks who post here, my battery life was really good before and seems even better since the update.

Did the update via Odin last night. Not too many changes, but it does seem more stable.

Looking forward to this update, I'd love to get this over heating problem fixed, even if it'd just a bit!

Not sure exactly what the update has exactly done. But, I can leave my S5 sitting on a wireless charger til charged without power saving mode and the battery temp is still under 95°F. I assume some bug fixes got applied.

Updated using Odin per Ironass' instructions. Never got OTA option nor was an update available through Kies.

I'm in charge of 3 g900v's. I Updated 2 of them via Oden last week and camera speed/ battery do seem to be improved quite a bit making this update worth it. I did a backup with kies, but Oden did factory reset the phone both times soo.. quick question. Does Oden always factory reset for everyone with this build? Is there an easy way to keep app data when backing up? The only reason is the 3rd phone I want to update is the bosses, and I would prefer not to have to re-set-up Nova launcher/ app settings. I'm trying to keep him an android fan since I convinced him to make the switch out of pure jealousy last year =) He is a little annoyed with the added complexity of things some what though.
