Mirrorlink and google maps
Hi there I don't know if this is the right place to post but I can't get Google maps to mirror on my Peugeot screen..
All other apps are working but not the maps..
I have the car mode app and the maps show in this on my s8 but not on my car screen..
Please help it's driving me nuts x
 
Welcome to Android Central! Does your car's system have Android Auto? Which Peugeot do you have, and what model year?
 
Good morning B.Diddy and thank you for the welcome and replying to my question.

My cars system has mirrolink, I downloaded Android Auto onto my s8 but it would only work on my phone.

My car is a Peugeot 208 Active 2015 65 plate.

I merged your posts. Sorry, but it looks like the forum software is still acting up. I was getting that "Exceed spam threshold" error last week as well -- I'll let the site admins know that it's still a problem for some people.

It sounds like MirrorLink is pretty picky in terms of compatibility: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/s8-s8-mirrorlink-t3589161. What version of MirrorLink is the car system running? Can you ask your local Peugeot service center if there are any firmware updates available?

I will try and find out the version and if there are any updates available...
It's so frustrating as maps are on the home screen of the app but not on the car screen..
 
I assume Google Maps was preinstalled on your phone -- what happens if you uninstall all updates to that app, and just use the factory-installed version?
 
Ugh.:( I'm guessing it's an incompatibility with either the phone or with its current Android version. This kind of thing is not unusual for factory-installed car systems. New phones and Android system updates happen relatively frequently, and the IT for the car companies don't always keep their firmware up to date to stay compatible with everything. Have you had a chance to contact Peugeot directly about this? I wouldn't be very optimistic about their support team, but you never know.
 
Never mind thank you for your help..i might pop to the Peugeot garage or post on their site...
