Mirror Cast, or Ez Cast

I have posted about the HDMI problem, I have contacted the Makers of Ez Cast and Mirror Cast which NetGear uses for the Push2 TV and they say that HTC One 4.4.2 has a HDCP problem! Can anyone tell me what HDCP is? Why does this phone have such a problem with being able to mirror to a HD TV??? So frustrating, I am not about to spend another $80 on the HTC Media Link in order to connect to my TV!!!! I will root my phone before that happened!
