Hey guys,

I was wondering if you guys knew how to turn off Mirrorlink once and for all on my S6 Edge. Everytime I connect it to the car, Mirrorlink automatically turns on and even when I turn it off in settings, it automatically switches back on. Mirrorlink isn't working with my car and I'm trying to get Android Auto to work with it instead but having Mirrorlink keep turning on prevents me from being able to load Android Auto. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm having this same issue with my s6 edge. 2015 Honda civic si...I'd like to know too...

Mine is the same too, I have a Subaru XV. I would like to use Android Auto seeing Mirrorlink doesn't connect to the car, but when connecting a USB cable it makes my screen go black on the phone and cannot do anything to the phone so can't connect AA.

I just purchased a galaxy s7 edge and I had the same problems as you. I ended up purchasing a iOttie HLCRIO132 Easy One wireless charger from amazon for about $65.00 and it works great. You have to supply your own USB cable as the one that comes with the kit only works with the 12V socket. Just make sure your device is wirelessly compatible.

Any easy work around is to use a charge only USB cable. Any usb cable can be easily used as charge only by cutting a small piece of cellophane tape and covering the 2 middle connectors, while leaving the two outer exposed. The two outer pins deliver power, so you will still be able to charge, but by blocking the data connections, you prevent the car from trying to connect to mirrorlink. Hope this is helpful

Okay....whew.. I found a solution...when you have the USB plugged in..do this. Go to settings>search. Type mirror link. It will pop up IMMEDIATELY!! sorry ...I'm lil excited.lol. at the the top, it will have an on/off switch.. you know what to do after that.

Go to applications manager and enable viewing of system apps. You will see Samsung Mirrorlink 1.1 that you should be able to stop and disable. I had the same issues but this worked for me.

I was unable to disable Mirror Link on my VZW Samsung S6 Edge. The disable button is grayed out. However, I found that when I stopped plugging the phone into the Honda USB port, the issue stopped. I now use a USB cig lighter adapter and my same USB cable to charge the phone and rely on Bluetooth for Pandora, Calling, and Text. (2014 Honda Civic CVT EX coupe).

i just disabled mirrorlink, hope this works! will test it out tomorrow.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The solution I've found is if you go into the app manager in settings > show system settings > Samsung mirrorlink
When you have that window open (for me the disable option is greyed out), plug the charger cable in and then immediately press 'Force Stop'.
If you press force stop before plugging it in it'll still launch the mirrorlink. That worked for me, it's not the best solution but it still worked.

My solution ! I have Samsung 7s
While plugging in the mirror link keeps operating.
Entering the preferences didn't work. I keep on turning it off and it goes to on in 2 seconds again...
Then I have connected the phone using a magnetic connector for the mini USB port. It anabled me to turn the cable 180 deg.
And that's it !!! The data can't flow upside down. No mirror link :-)
