Is the problem on all messaging app? I haven't had any on the stock one but I had a lot of problems using Textra (Verizon).
I am on AT&T and never missed any messages are you sure you had good signal at the time you missed messages.Guys, in the last 2 days I have not gotten a handful of text messages that people have sent me. I am using Android Messages as the default text app. Anyone else seeing this?
Did you happen to have an iPhone as your previous phone? If so, you need to de-register your phone # from iMessage.Guys, in the last 2 days I have not gotten a handful of text messages that people have sent me. I am using Android Messages as the default text app. Anyone else seeing this?
Yeah I'm going to do a factory reset later this afternoon. No issue here you need to call your carrier are so a soft reset
That's not it. I use textra and I have no issues. I do have bixby disabled, makes a guy think. Samsung wants to force their messaging app on everything, just maybe that's the issue. It's the non-samsung messaging apps that are causing it. Something in Samsug's software breaks the ability to properly receive messages when not using Samsungs app.
I read that people with S8 and S8+ phones are having problems with text messages on all the carriers. Maybe it's affecting Note 8 people too now. The article I read seems to think it's a Samsung problem.

That may be, but to say the only one that works is stock is incorrect, because obviously not everyone is effected. I get the remote call screen pop up error like others and some don't, which Verizon says it's Verizon messages. For some it is, for me and others it's advanced calling, turn it off and the remote call screen goes away. So with all that said, I won't be one to say it's one thing, or the one thing is effecting everyone's phone differently. No, that really is it. It also depends on carrier too. For whatever reason the built in messaging is the only one that works consistently with some carriers.

And as I stated, the stock messaging app could be the issue since Samsung insists on making the stock messaging app required for things such as bixby and their gear watch line.
Either way, we might as well get comfortable because the Carriers and Samsung will point fingers at each other for awhile.
