missing video call icon in stock phone app

my S24U is running UI 7 beta 3, and my video icon is missing in the stock phone app.

what am i missing?

i have TMobile in San Francisco and I am certain it supports video call. I do not have google Meet, just prefer not to have another google app on my phone if i can help it.
do you have the video call icon on your stock phone app?

Yes, but it's Google Meet, not a 'native' video call. I don't think carriers support that anymore unless it's either FaceTime or Google Meet for Android phones.

am i correct both parties need to install google meet for the video call? if one party did not have it, it will not work.

I think that's correct, but many Android phones come with Google Meet preinstalled now, I think.

i think you may be correct, but i uninstalled it and maybe that is the reason i do not see the video call icon

Very odd that your T-Mobile doesn't have it Cause T-Mobile comes with there Samsung Video call built in I'm on Carrier T-Mobile S24 Ultra OneUI 7.0 Beta 3.

I take it that's the carrier version? Either way, I think that still 'summons' Meet.

Nope. They get a link and they can join via web, just like FaceTime started doing last year.

Yup only unlocked Firmware doesn't have the Samsung Video call stock , Only Carrier's.

Like i said Unlocked phones don't get stock video call only Carrier's, assuming that's what your saying.

i had no idea unlocked firmware does not come with video call option which i find a bit odd.

Always been that way only the Carrier's get them.
Same with RCS Message all unlocked phones never have them build like certain Carrier's has AT&T and T-Mobile
