MIUI brought to you by Vicious(11-17-2011) Fully Working Now!!

Re: MIUI brought to you by Vicious(11-17-2011) Fully Working Now

A good rule of thumb for the thunderbolt, when flashing new rom's is to get a solid gps location on your device right before you flash, then you won't run into gps location problems.

Re: MIUI brought to you by Vicious(11-12-2011) Fully Working Now

so, question
1) can you actually 'navigate'? (not just get directions, but have voice guidance)
2) what is your baseband version (both #'s)
3) what kernel are you using?
greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info about flashing and backing up prefs.

I can navigate with no problems. I was driving to an appointment a few days ago and my GPS lock was instant and navigation with voice guidance was spot on.

Here's a screenshot of my baseband/kernel information.

*edit: I just saw my kernel and baseband is the same as ambienteternity who cannot get a lock. Odd. I didn't do anything special prior to loading this ROM, I came from the most recent CM7 (didn't have GPS lock issues on that one) but I didn't get a lock prior to flashing or anything like that.

This was all on Release 5 - I'm only now downloading Release 6.

Just flashed Release 6 over Release 5 ... kept all my settings perfectly fine.

However, regarding the 3G/4G icon, it's now displaying "4G" constantly, although I'm 30 miles from the closest 4G coverage area. Even using a toggle like LTE On/Off I can't get it to stop displaying "4G."

i would agree for AOSP, but for the other 30+ Sense ROM's i've ran over the past 8 months,--i've never had any GPS issues. it's only been on CM7 & MIUI.
oh well. the search continues.

i'm running same Baseband (both) & same kernel. odd this is happening.

I also just came from CM7 but I don't think I ever had to use my GPS while I was running that rom.

Sorry if I missed it but it doesn't look like you got your gps lock before flashing this and it is an aosp base rom. That's why I say its just a good rule to get the lock before flashing any rom, I don't have gps issues when I do this and I've flashed a good amount of different roms.

understood :) and i know it's an AOSP--just wasn't seeing how others were getting locks and i wasn't :)

Is anyone else having problems using Flash? It worked when I installed the first version of this ROM, but then I wiped and upgraded to the second or third stable release, and it hasn't worked since (on release 6 now). I figure it's the AOSP setup, so has anyone had any luck using the same workarounds that were suggested for CM7?

yup--i can't get Flash to work, either. Video length bar will show up but no actual images will be displayed. Audio works fine--even the ads that show on the video bar are showing--but no pictures.

oy.
Flash--latest version Installed.

You need to run Flash version 10.xx on aosp roms, flash 11 does not work. Here is 10.2 for you, uninstall whatever your version is, restart the phone and install this. Just make sure you do not update and do not have auto update set for flash.

Many thanks. 10.2 is working great for me. I had 10.1 installed, but I must've allowed it to update or something.

Thanks again.

I flashed this ROM and wiped data and everything. SMS notifications were working for about a week but then all the sudden stopped working... anybody else having this problem? Tried reflashing and everything but nothing seems to work...

Edit: Suddenly started working again... weird.

When I was on one of the first releases my notifications were wonky, and the normal messaging app wouldn't have any rhyme or reason to how it displayed the order of texts, and it kept asking permission for Handcent even though I allowed it.

Ever since I've been on Stable Release 6, I haven't had any issues though.

I just reflashed this rom from testing other things and titanium backup now thinks I'm not rooted. Help!

I Googled the issue and I heard clearing the cash for titanium and clearing superuser data helps, but I had no cashe info to clear.

Sigh. I can't restore.
