MIUI Ported to the X

It's been so long since I SBF'd myself, what do we do when you boot loop when its done? Battery pull isnt doin it.

SBF? Go into stock recovery and factory reset phone. Bootloop will be gone!

So, my Rom Manager Premium will not boot into CWR, it just reboots like a normal reboot back to the(ugly) stock homescreen.. I flashed CWR for Droid X not 2nd init as now were on GB. I then tried 2nd-init anyway with no luck. I am rooted(how cool was that process!) and Superuser permissions are set. I tried thru Install ROM from SD Card and also Reboot into Recovery options. Any ideas?

Edit - never mind. Been so into MIUI I forgot you need the D2 bootstrap when not in MIUI. Phew disaster averted.

To help the MIUI guys out, I I started a bug thread over at MIUI so they can help with what is being reported across multiple forums. Only linking here since some of us are using those said forums along with our own. Which is the best of course, no one beats our Ac forums.

To expand on that...I went and restored using MIUI restore System and Apps. Once it finished the reboot went thru and now I am in a non stop reboot, not boot loop. It will go to the homescreen and I can unlock it, even swipe thru a few pages(only saw 2 apps restored on screen #3) before it just simply reboots. Did a factory reset to stop it, not necessarily fix it. I knew it worked because now during the miui boot anim, when the home keys light up and stay lit, even if the screen dims(that puckering moment), you will be ok. Switching to manual .apk installation thru the backup folder on my SD card. Beer #3.

This is Gingerbread with 2nd int right??? getting confused here with some of the posts here, anyway, I was havn trouble getting root permissions and strolled over to OP at Rootzwiki and in bold letters I read

YOU MUST Go to Tools> Superuser > Menu> Setting> and activate Root

That's a test I need to run. I want to flash the status bar extended mods(i dont need to see VZW or another clock up there) but ive tried in both Droid X and Droid X 2nd-init and it doesn't stick. Droid X and Droid X 2nd-init both bring you to the new blue hued CWR 5.0.2.0(musta been those CM7 guys on that one).

Overall I have only found 2 things wrong so far. Most of us are having the "stuck at 100%" battery issue and also the USB not recognizing issue(from the device end, Windows still chimes when you plug in) which I've read is being investigated. Since the jump to the GB kernel, speeds in Quadrant averaged out to 2261 for me, QCA has upped my stats(see sig) and speedtest, well thats all about signal, not the ROM really. Otherwise, I feel as though I am still quite comfy with MIUI as it has been mostly unchanged visually and rule-wise since we are now on the latest GB kernel so now we have a 2.3 ROM running on 2.3. Im sure now things that were designed for 2nd init will be re-designed for 602 builds. New things await us I am sure.

To follow up in the battery thing. Overall it seems people, myself included, are now concerned about battery drainage to 0. Battery stats are false, as well as the meter reading. If it wont charge wall or via usb to a pc, then once it drains to 0 it wont turn on to flash another ROM(or sbf to stock) and we will be stuck with a dead device. Or am I seeing this wrong?

Sensei Mod for the mean time, has the right amount of blur for me, and the battery life is descent.

Yea they puled the 1916 update from the ROM page so thats a good sign they are aware of the issues and are working on it. Man this stock 602 is ugleeeeeeeeeeeee lol

Jersey, a bit confused. Do I need to get on the GB Kernel first? I'm on 1.9.9 and see the ROM option in ROM premium.

I would think I would need to sbf, take Verizon update then one click before flashing....

use the .602 sbf found in the Rooting/Roms stickies, one click root it then grab MIUI 1.9.1.6.1

For live wallpapers...
They work. So far I have tried the default installed Maps and Nexus. I went ahead and bought Mystic Halo which is awesome. The free version doesnt give as much access to the settings as paid version does. BUT I am having some problems centering it. There are mucho extended settings for it, yet I cannot get it to center with MUIU's default home screen(3rd from left). Anyone have that geometrical psyche that I dont to lend a hand?


ps - yes I could just get LPP but I'm not down wit LPP anymore since MIUI.US

Update...4hrs later running this wallpaper w screen time out disabled, minor web surfing, texting, and tapatalking and I went from 90 battery to 60 battery. Not bad.

Thanks for this information. I was able to get to MIUI 1.9.16 setup pretty easily with no problems.
