MIUI Ported to the X

Only thing I've noticed so far (initial impression) is the notification settings on launcher and the new MIUI browser is very inviting. :-)

Nicely done Jedi. Good way to keep us up to date. I havent been paying much attention since I have been so good with .28

So to clear my confusion, this is a MIUI build, but based off of ICS? Could you clarify? I ask only because ICS is the new stock Android and MIUI is a custom build of stock Android as far as I knew. Im getting behind.

I was looking for you Jerseyboy!! The build is (as of now) based off of DXC's 1.10.21, the framework is ICS. o_O (hey don't ask..don't tell..LOL) from what I'm getting is that when DXC finishes his last MIUI build then Aceoyame will finish the ICS version of MIUI...WIN WIN WIN for all of us...YEAH BABY!!

Just flashed the ICS over 10.21 by wiping all caches before and after installing the zip and experienced no Issues. It definitely feels smooth and fast.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that v6 supercharger was also installed.

Hey guys three questions.

1. Are there any tricks to getting wifi tethering working on 1.10.21?

2. Has the browser crash problem been fixed on the ics build?

3. When do you think the ics build will officially make its appearance on the dx?

Thanks in advance.

1. Not sure on wifi, have you tried the Open Garden app?

2. Yes! by updating the libwebcore.so with this >http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11232883/Android Central/libwebcore.so
(Using Root Explorer drop the file in system/lib/)

3. Hopefully this weekend!!:D

I was using open garden on cm7 but when I switched to miui it would not work. In fact it made me change my password to 13 letters the first time I used it and hasn't worked since.

This should solve your wi-fi tether woes. It has for everyone else so far, myself included
android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting

And Im in CWR right now about to flash this miui-ics hybrid. Lets see what this bad boy does.

Update - OK so I flashed it in CWR and received this error after it was nearly finished,

"assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img".
"/dev/block/mmcblk1p15")
E:Error in /sdcard/miuiscotland_Defy-1.11.9-ICS.zip
(Status 7)
Install aborted.

So I go back and reboot, and my X boots into BootLoader with the error numbers A5,69,4E,00,23
With the usual Battery OK to program Connect Data Cable. Gona leave it there for now.

The ICS build seems ok, and when i say ok i mean it works but has a few bugs/apps not working right. What would happen though if I restore my /data from my 1.10.21 backup?

Well I'm rained in here so I get to play some more on my phone...gonna try out the 720p fix and see if I can fix or crash this baby. ;-)
Edit: turns out all these toggle problems the 1.10.28 build was having was because of the 720p fix DXC did. Will not flash anything today :-( guess I'll read a book for a change.. :-)

I had luck flashing with rom manager (same thing?) With just a cache wipe. When did you download the zip file?

Yesterday from the site itself. What a horrible experience that was dude. LOL
After not being abelt o get past the bootloader, I broke down and SBFd to 602 as there was no escape and I needed my phone. Now, the 602 sbf file Ive been using forever didnt flash right and Im missing half the stock apps.

Im gona re-SBF one last time and root and get my ass back on .28 MIUI where I was content. ICS can wait til April when I upgrade, lol

Update - I dont know man this is not my day. I got .28 reloaded and when I went to MIUI Restore to get everything back the way I had it, I now have constant reboots. It will boot to the lock screen and the download icon appears and BAM reboot, non stop. Reset/Cache didnt make any changes. I dont remember what the fix for this was, anyone else?

Cancel. Ok last edit. I am back, another factory reset followed by a battery pull got me back to .28 stock(MIUI). Im just gona restore my apps, I feel the system part is what caused it.
