My sister and I got 2 Infuses a few days ago. I love this phone! Only problem is the packet data has to be connected in order to recieve (but not send) an MMS. When my packet data is off and I get a MMS, even when I connect it, it wont download the MMS, it just says downloading...

Yet on my sisters Infuse, as soon as she connects her packet data it downloads every MMS she recieved while she was off her packet data.

Ive spent 2 hours on the phone with techs at AT&T today, neither could figure out why mine wasnt working & My settings are identical to my sisters. Am I missing something? Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks!

first thing is try a factory data reset.

Do you both have the same data plan? in same area?

why not just set it to auto retrieve mms?

They might possibly be on AT&Ts 200MB plan. Factory Reset like zhelf said. Then put eveyrthing like your girlfriends and see if it works. If not, take it back and swap it out.

Mine was doing the same thing so i turned it off data network mode, went to the message settings turned off auto retrieve, turned data network mode back on and just downloaded them manually its worked for me since. (data network mode is on the same menu as when your powering of the phone)

I had the same issues i tried all the stuff on the forum, but ended up just downloading the GoSms pro and it works great no issues yet.

GoSMS is a great little app. The Go Keyboard is also really good. I use, off and on, their entire suite of products.

Well I know its been a long time since this thread was started...but to follow up, AT&T had me swap my phone out...only for the issue to start happening again even when Ive kept the data packet on all the time. Came back here to see the replies and Turning off AUTO RETRIEVE and downloading manually worked!! Thank you everyone :)

Just wanted to say, I've also had this problem for quite some time. I've messed with the auto retrieve settings and it just seems like sometimes the messages come through and sometimes they don't...:(
