Mobile Broadband Sharing

I moved to a place here in Western MA where there is no 4G connection. I can only get 2G on my MT4G. Then I have a laptop with internal broadband card from Verizon. I tried to share my internet from my laptop and theWifi broadcast can be seen by other laptops. But when I try to scan it from my MT4G, I cant find the connection.

I plan to connect from my laptop connection using my MT4G like a normal hotspot. Is it possible? Why can I see the connection from other laptop but not from my phone?

It should be possible. As long as you broadcast the WiFi's SSD, the phone should see it. Can you post your step-by-step approach?
