Hi everyone,
I'm having this issue with my S6 edge and I'd like to know if anyone else is facing the same problem. So basically my phone is not connecting to mobile data after wi-fi connection is lost or manually disconnected. This is not always happening but once it happens the only way to bring back mobile data is by restarting the phone or manually toggling mobile data on and off in settings. Once it connects to mobile data it'll work for a while but then after being connected on WI-FI for a while it won't go back to mobile data on its own :'( . This hasn't been a big issue because I have wifi at home and work, but it's a hassle having to manually toggle settings every time. :-! I'm really hoping I'm not the only one with this issue.
Please help!!

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Wi-fi, tap Menu>Advanced, and turn off Smart Network Switch (if available).

I have noticed this same exact problem after getting my galaxy s6 (not edge), a week ago. Im on 5.1.1, assuming you were on 5.0.2 when you wroye this post months ago. Definitely seems like a bug Samsung still needs to work out.

It Also only happens after turning off WiFi or leaving WiFi. Toggling airplane mode does not even fix it for me. Only restarting the phone fixes it. I have not tried turning data setting on and off, but airplane mode does that and more anyways. I have tried turning off the scan for WiFi when off setting, because I feel like that probably has something to do with it. See what happens I guess.

I'm having the exact same issues. Interested in hearing other solutions.

My wife's S6 edge has the same problem. The only way we have been able to fix it is a reboot of the phone and then data starts to work. Hopefully they can fix this. (5.1.1 T-Mobile btw).

I'm having the same issue. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with Verizon and with Samsung, trying a variety of things that they suggested, but I'm still having the problem.

I am also having this issue, not all the time, but enough to be annoying. For me toggling into Airplane mode and back out works.

I have the same issue every once in a while. I'll get either no data or a 1x signal. Toggling in/out of airplane mode works fine for me.

I've just run into this and it's been driving me nuts! Thanks for the suggestions; I'll try anything,

I have the same issue on my S7 Flat (SM-G930F). Only way to fix it is to either switch Airplane Mode on and off or restarting the handset.

Does anyone know of a permanent solution?

Update: The issue I had with my phone seems to have gone away. It hasn't had this issue in a while now. Perhaps there was an update or something, I don't know.
