mobile hotspot turn on

Has anyone on att figured out how to get the hotspot feature to turn on? I went into setting and disabled the tethering provisioning app and tried to turn on hotspot but it wouldn't go. this is what I used to do on my androids prior to 4g and ice cream sandwich

Do you have the tethering option turned on for your dataplan?

No I do not but I never had before either. I wonder if it being on 4g is making a difference.

Generally, you'll not be able to use your phone as a hotspot without the option in your dataplan, unless you were using some sort of work around, and those usually involve roots as far as I can tell. If you were able to do that before without activating it on your plan, that's got to be one of the best glitches.
