[Mod] Samsung Boot Logo Mod (Not bootanimation, SAMSUNG power on logo)

and it did say it, but it's kinda smashed up against something and I didn't notice it at first either

Steps:
Enter download mode
Flash hacked param.lfs IN HEIMDALL IN THE BOX THAT SAYS PARAM.LFS, NOT FACTORYFS
Reboot normally, if it boots into recovery just reboot again
Ignore garbled text on bootup
Copy your new bootlogo to /sdcard/logo.jpg
Open ADB shell
Enter these commands:

su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl6 /mnt/.lfs
cp /sdcard/logo.jpg /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg

I just used adb to push the image onto my sd card as well, since it was open already /shrug just make sure the Logo.jpg was saved in your quick adb folder on your c: drive

adb push Logo.jpg /sdcard/Logo.jpg

First of all I can't believe I rushed home to do a whacky mod to my phone. Got it working and is a cool mod for sure.

Anyone contemplating on doing this, I will say its kinda trivial and it replaces the samsung logo before your bootanimation starts. It also involves using heimdal which I'm sure not many of you have used. Was my first time and even with the samsung driver installed you need to instal a driver inside the heimdal prog.

Also a first time user of adb here and I did run into some bumps along the way using it.

So your samsung logo stays on your screen what about 10 seconds? The risks from this mod may outweigh the gain here. I jus like to do challenging stuff.

Just to follow up here...

I installed a 400x400 jpg and the image was all the way in the upper left corner of the screen. Found out on xda that a full 480x800 pic must be used to fill the screen. No centering of smaller pics is possible.

If anyone is following all this fun...its really easy to go back to stock, done it couple times to make sure.

Omigod can you see the day this may become a sticky with ppl showing off their boot screens? This stuff is off the hook.

Man I am a flash addict and there is more stuff to flash...of course kernels and roms are very important too. Have to have that flash fix ya know
