Black dots on the screen caused me to take my S3 into best buy today an get a replacement... He's in a better place, but unfortunately I have to use my old iPhone 4 until my replacement comes in. Lets take a moment and remember the good times. Pour some of your drink on the curb if you need to lol. This is all I have left. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348428098.681842.jpg

Anybody else have the same issue?

Yikes... I shudder just thinking about it! I'm still looking to resolve my issues today. Hopefully your new one won't have the same issue!
Condolences for sure!

Are you talking about black dots (ink blobs are what they are referred to in the forums) while the screen is black, most of the time you can see this while watching a movie, if yes I have that but it's normal for these types of screens so it's not a defect. If you had the black dots while the screen isn't black I haven't heard of that being a widespread issue. Sorry you had to lose her :(

Hopefully your new phone is flawless. I dont have any black dots on mine either with the screen black, or while the screen isnt black.

Yea, I have the black dots on YouTube and Hulu while the screen is black or even if it was a dark background with the screen on. It was rather annoying and I don't see how that's not a defect. my OCD will not allow me to keep the phone if its doing that. Hopefully the next one will not have this issue.

Other than that I haven't had any issues with the GS3 other than withdrawals of not having it and having to use this dinosaur iPhone 4.

Yes I noticed these too and freaked thinking something was wrong but I Googled the issue and found out its common on super amoled screens and nothing to worry about, although I agree I don't like looking at it either. I have heard some people do not have any dots though. I came from the IPhone 4 myself :D

Lol. Why is this okay?! Why is it acceptable to be common in these screens?! I don't get it. We buy these high end devices for them to have flaws that cannot be fixed. Grrr. Hopefully my new one won't have dots. Btw geek squad insurance is a joke! Don't waste your money!

I had these on my GNEX screens and have it slightly on my S3. It is very common so my take on it is if it ain't that bad deal with it because the new one can always be worse and if you keep returning it you will never get to enjoy the phone.

Now dead pixels, that is another story. That is something I would be more concerned about. The black dots can only be seen in total darkness on a black screen when their isn't anything really lighting up any part of the screen.
