Motion Controlled Screen Turn On????

The power button is getting quite the workout and i feel like it'll be the first thing to break.. lol

so im asking if theres an app or setting in the evo that will turn on the screen automatically if you pick the phone up from a horizontal surface??

or if shaken, jostled, or just picked up.
it would be a good benefit.
im used to receiving txt messages on windows mobile, and every time someone sent a message the phone screen would turn on so i can view it.

If you use Handcent or ChompSMS for text messaging (which are both far superior to the stock app), it will turn the screen on when you receive a message. Handcent even has an option for how long it should stay on.

I do miss how the hero would let you hit menu twice to get past the lock screen.

thanks for the sms alternatives.. i think the built in sms app is pretty featureful enough for me.. i'll have to give those a try though.

i just wanna pick the phone up and it come on, if its been sitting for a while or not
someones GOTTA dev that app up for us.. i would PAY for it.
