If I lay my nexus is on my bed and I move while in bed my screen turns on. Also if the phone is stationed and I pick it up the screen comes on. I can only imagine while in my pockets the screen being on while walking.
Any one else noticed this?

Not me, mine only comes on if you press the power button.

I actually noticed it only happens when is on the charger. Could my charging port be faulty?

That's strange. May be a loose charging connection.

Very likely so since the phone is designed to turn on the screen upon conection/disconnection of external power source.
