DO NOT BUY! battery lasts about an hour with update and at low light. Doesn't show texts on watch. Is not user friendly. Microphone doesn't work worth a crap when using "ok google" ok Google sucks too. No apps show content on watch, have to go to phone to see content. No reason to have the watch if you need to go to phone to see content. Biggest, most expensive joke on the market today.

Sounds like you got a bad unit. Have you thought about doing an exchange?

Definitely not what I'm experiencing - duff unit - get it replaced and join the happy users

Like the others said you got a lemon. Not experiencing any of this. Actually yesterday my battery was on track to last almost 24 hours. Exchange your watch ASAP.

I wouldn't be too quick to judge, especially if your unit differs from all the videos out there and if your battery only lasts an hour. Definitely a defective unit (or risk sounding like a trolling user). My watch can go for 20 hours with moderate/heavy use, and up to 40 with very low to only-tell-time use after the latest update. Messages DO show up on the watch, as do e-mails. Some apps show content on the watch, some others don't, but that's up to the devs.
The ability to change watchfaces (I strongly recommend Facer until an API comes out) is awesome.

Yes, Android Wear is NOT perfect, but we knew this was a 1.0 release. There's much more to improve and it's coming, as it always is with new platforms.

OP unit has to be defective. I have mine three weeks and it keeps getting better. I was ready to return mine when I first got it battery life was terrible could not get 6 hours. Since update I have been getting 14 hours with moderate to heavy use. I am more then happy.

I took it back. Got my money back. I didn't like how I couldn't get anything on my watch besides it telling the time and that I had a message and that the battery was so poor. I'm not a mac fan. I hate all Things Mac and iPhone. That's why I went Android. It looked like a cool watch but it didn't do anything and I had to charge twice a day and leave it charged all night. What was so good about the watch that you guys liked?

I didn't have time (pun intended) to change out watches to see if battery life would get better. There was no option on the watch to get anything off of my phone.

No apps. And ok google was awful. I had to keep repeating myself then it wanted said it still couldn't help

Looking forward to a real user friendly watch that does something

I don't mind charging over night. It's the issue of having to charge twice a day and over night. That sucks

Yeah. Initial post is correct. It only lasted about an hour. I said I had to charge a couple times in the day and over night. Not sure went that doesn't make sense to you. It lasted about an hour It almost died. I charged it twice during during the day like I said and all night. What are you not understanding? And what the heck is this trolling you guys keep taking about? Maybe I did have a defective unit. I started this forum so what is trolling? I am being serious. Even the little amount of time I had with the watch before it started to die was awful. Didn't show texts. No Messenger. No apps or options.

All I'm trying to do is let people know my experience and opinion of the watch that wasted my time (pun intended) I waited a long time to get that watch and it was a big let down. I was disappointed that's all I'm saying.

Yeah. None of that was on there. I could check time but that was it.

I could adjust the light

Where was the heat rate monitor?

What dozen apps and growing?

What are you talking about?

Reply by voice for what? It didn't say anything

It would show words that it didn't get what I said but never said anything

I got a notification that I had a text like I said but it would not display content. I would have to open in the phone. What good is that?

That's the example.

I could see the envelope that showed I had a text on the watch but when I swiped to read it the only option was to open in phone.

Why would I keep a watch that is supposed to be good at voice recognition and then get a response from you about "then just touch the screen"

Mine worked fine at the light it was at. I'm glad yours lasted 18+ hours. Mine didn't. So why would I keep it. Why would any one want to go through that

And it was a lot less user friendly then an awesome Android phone. I love Android phones. I have a note 3 and it's awesome and user friendly. Watch was not

Watched a couple videos and I needed a third party texting app? To see texts? That's awful

Hmm, mine lasts 18+ hours or more

and at low light.

Mine works fine in any light

Doesn't show texts on watch.

Funny, mine does

Is not user friendly.

It is no less or more friendly than an Android phone

Microphone doesn't work worth a crap when using "ok google"

Mine works 99% of the time

ok Google sucks too.

Then just touch the screen

No apps show content on watch, have to go to phone to see content.

Example?

No reason to have the watch if you need to go to phone to see content

Really? So I guess getting notifications that you can read, replying by voice, checking time, date, calendar, heartrate, steps, using a calculator, or a zillion other things you can do without going to the phone makes it useless

Biggest, most expensive joke on the market today.

People spend thousands of dollars on watches that do nothing but tell the time and date and look "important".

There are many dozens of apps and growing every day

And ok google was awful. I had to keep repeating myself then it wanted said it still couldn't help

Mine is accurate most of the time- about the same as using the phone with voice recognition.

Looking forward to a real user friendly watch that does something

We have that right now- it is the Moto 360

Fair enough

Not really.
I have never had less than about 33% battery left by the time I take it off at night to wash my face before bed.

All I'm trying to do is let people know my experience

No, that is not what you were SAYING. You were being definitive and making wild and inflammatory claims as general fact which were not correct.

and opinion of the watch that wasted my time (pun intended) I waited a long time to get that watch and it was a big let down. I was disappointed that's all I'm saying.

It is certainly not perfect, but nowhere near the disaster picture you are painting.

Where was the heat rate monitor?

It is built right into the watch by default and the app is preloaded. Just like the step counter.

What dozen apps and growing?

They are all on Google Play Store. https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...com/store/search?q=wear&c=apps&token=tkbUHwVX

What are you talking about?

You didn't quote anything, so I have no idea what you are referring to...

Reply by voice for what? It didn't say anything

You can reply by voice to text messages or Email or other types of messages from the watch.

I got a notification that I had a text like I said but it would not display content. I would have to open in the phone. What good is that?

You never read the online manuals or the on-screen tutorial. Had you swiped to the left, it would have show you the whole message. One more swipe to the left and you could reply.

Why would I keep a watch that is supposed to be good at voice recognition and then get a response from you about "then just touch the screen"

Because sometimes you are in a noisy environment- people, wind, etc.

It wasn't a rant, he told his opinion he made no personal attacks and I think the post the rules was uncalled for, we are sharing our opinions yes this man should have been more patient and got a replacement but that's my opinion.

Your out of the box update was screwed up. This happens far too often on the 360, and the symptoms are exactly what you're describing.

I know you sent it back (I don't blame you) but for a general FYI what needed done was a factory reset, a full charge, then check for updates again via the settings.

If I bought a piece of tech I'd been waiting many moons for and it could only survive an hour I'd be a little miffed too! Ranting is therapeutic - I agree both that your device was not really ready for prime time - and that Android Wear kinda isn't also. It's fun, but I wouldn't give it to someone that wasn't really in love with nerdery.
