Moto 360 now or wait for the successor?

Thanks :)
Can someone here please post a picture with it when wearing a suit? Would love to know if the Moto 360 with it's mixture of classic and futuristic design looks good with it...

Cheers

I have a Moto 360 and I like it but was hoping for more features. Not being able to make a call through the watch is a letdown, to be honest. And the vibration seems a little low, I miss some of the notifications...Also, framerate*seems a little choppy at time, even with the last 5.0.2 update.*I demand more, I really hope future Android Wear updates make it a little more interesting.

Not sure I understand the usefulness of "making a call" from the 360. The 360 has no speaker. And talking into the watch as a phone is freaky. So you would really need a headset. And if you have a headset, then you can just voice dial through that.

My main issue is not being able to initiate new text messages through the watch. It handles incoming and replies to incoming just great, but it seems to be impossible to send NEW messages from the 360.

When your driving it could be handy, samsun gear 2 has a little speaker on the buckle closure. And not even having Portuguese from Portugal has a language that I can give voice commands is also disappointing

You can - "OK Google" -> "Send text to whoever" -> "say your message"

Ah, I found the reason- I intentionally have "Google Now" disabled. And after researching, I am still not quite sure why Google has to have permission to store everything you do on their servers just to do a contact lookup. I already use Google Contacts, and it is already syncing, and they already have it on their servers, so why do I have to allow everything else? Right now, I am not willing to turn it on. I will probably give up at some point.

For those wondering, if you have Now turned off (or its associated permission), what you get is "To Improve Contact Recognition, Google Needs to use your device contacts, open on phone".

Since I had not researched this before now, it shows everyone how often I have needed to initiate a text message from my watch (which is very rarely).

I would have been decidedly in the wait camp until a normal cell phone upgrade at Best Buy. Essentially with an Android phone purchase/upgrade (S6 Edge for me) they took $100 off any moto watch. With the recent price drop I got the black with steel bracelet band for $119. If they had the leather in stock (the one I really wanted) it would have only been $79. Kind of a no brainer even if a new one is out in the next 3-6 months.

I did the same yesterday.

$180 Moto 360
$40 Moto G (Verizon pre-paid)
-$100 Promo
$-25 edu coupon

$95 plus tax for the combo!

... that's like buying all that tech for close to free!

I think with the 165 promotion I'm going to pick it up this weekend

I can't argue against this any longer. Originally, my position was to wait, but $165? Dang, that's impulse buy territory. Heck, we might see $125 just prior to the next Moto.

i almost bought the moto360 last year during black friday promotions but the play store ran out.

i did an impulse buy when it was $179 at amazon. for such a fun, useful, good-looking wearable, its cheaper than the smart fitness watches at $165! you really can't go wrong with it.

Got mine this past weekend. I am happy with it. Costco had it for 169.99 and I had a $100 check from my Costco membership. Out the door for $70 out of pocket couldn't pass it up

I just sent my replacement Moto 360 back due to a crack appearing on the back in exactly the same place as the first one I sent in. When I get the replacement its going on eBay. Picked up the zenwatch. I am really digging it. I have an extra stone leather strap from a Moto360 that I am going to use. I will post a pic later.
I was able to upgrade to the latest Android Wear too.
I loved my 360 but the replacement I will get will just crack as well. Hopefully they will address the issue

I can initiate a call and initiate a new text through my watch. Now, obviously, it uses my phone for both of these functions, but works great. Now, for a call, I have to either have my phone ready for speaker phone, pick up the phone or use Bluetooth (my option typically).
