Just got a Moto G 2nd gen

To get into the recovery options I needed to:

- Keep the power button pressed down
- Tap the volume up button

Another interesting thing...

I am using my Moto 4g 2nd gen kitkat as a test device with no sim. I added my network manually. Deactivating 'location' services in settings allowed my phone to see the wifi network.

No, don't worry. Just make sure you have more than 50% of your battery left before you start the wipe, the whole process could take about 10 minutes.
