Moto G5 Plus with Consumer Cellular

Title should read Moto G5s Plus


Need to replace a Moto G 1st gen with a better phone on Consumer Cellular.

Currently CC has a crappy mid level phone option. We have found the Moto G5 Plus in our price range but CC says they can't guarantee text messaging or data would work.

Is anyone using Moto G5s Plus on Consumer Cellular now? Any issues?

We are looking for a phone around $300 dollars with decent photo's along with data/texting with photo's!. My husband and I like to use similar phones. I already upgraded mine to a moto g4 a while back.

As far as I know CC uses AT&T's network and they specifically advertise that you can use any phone previously used on AT&T or T-Mobile. I have a G5S Plus on AT&T and use it with no issues. I really can't see you having any problems. Are you using a different carrier now?

We have been on Consumer Cell for years now. Our first smart phones were Moto G 1st Generation. Getting them programmed to work ...which we had to do ourselves was a major challenge and luckily folks on this forum helped us through it. Soon after that CC started carrying Moto G's ... now the just have on Moto E but appear to be moving away from them.

They do run a disclaimer both with the CSR and on the website that says non CC phones may not work with all features.... so ordering one from motorola makes us a bit nervous.

Now having second thoughts... even the ATT has some with and some with out. ugh.

Will have to stew on it some more.
