I believe this is the Moto battery Mod that they announced earlier this year, and then delayed until "Spring".

So, I'm wondering how this quote from Moto jibes with the images...

"...the add-on would increase the battery life of any Moto Z smartphone by 50 percent, but without adding any extra bulk."

Do you think they made that "no extra bulk" claim because the idea is you put the mod on, charge the phone, then remove it? I was imagining a really thin mod that had maybe 1000mah extra but remains attached. But the one pictured sure looks bulky.

I think they mean it's thinner and lighter than the current Battery Mods available now. This new one will not be as "bulky" as the current ones.
