Checking to see if it's just me but Moto Voice since upgrade is real buggy! 1/2 the time it will not respond? Accuracy is bad and lag time is big.

Google voice much faster, accurate and more instant.

Only issue is Google Now cant launch from lock screen,...but then again 50% time Moto wont launch also!

Thoughts?

That sucks. On those Apple iThings you say "Hey Siri" and Siri wakes the iDevice and launches Siri. But you have to be plugged in to get that to work. So try plugging your phone in and see if it helps.

I would suggest trying to reset your launch phrase and make sure you are in an extremely quiet place when you set it up. Clearing the cache partition may also help speed thing up.

I haven't had a lot of success with Moto Voice recognizing my launch phrase while the screen is off. It tends to work much better with the screen on, even if it's just sitting on the table still. Not sure what the issue is, but maybe it's a bug in the passive listening.

Did a complete reset, Moto Voice vs Siri doesn't require one to have the phone plugged it.Changed the phrase, did a re record of original phrase.

Nothing seems to help, Coming from Moto gen 1 Moto Voice was so fast, tight, accurate!

We sold iPhone 6 for voice control because of issues and lack of accuracy on Siri but since software update its a train wreck with Moto X.

Not trying to make you feel bad, but want to represent the "other side" on this issue. My Moto X recognizes my launch phrase really well even in a very noisy environment. I am actually quite surprised at how well it works, and this is all with the screen off. So, not sure what to tell you, but it works great on the phone I have.

I doubt plugging in the device would do much good. The reason it only launches while plugged in on ios 8 is because it is programmed to and would drain massive battery life otherwise, as there is no dedicated listening chip.

I would recommend recalibrating your launch phase. If it is short, make it longer. Mine is OK computer, and it responds 90% of the time, even when I'm in another room. Also, if you have a case on, that might be blocking your microphone.

That's a lot more helpful information than I gave.

I was struggling with the Moto Voice activation untill I changed my phrase to something a little longer. Now it is working like a charm!

Upgrad was done a while ago, and will try a longer phrase next.

It got so bad had to turn off Moto Voice because it never launches and 90% the command is lost or missed worded.

I've had a lot of trouble with Moto Voice and have retrained the phrase many times. It will work if I am right on top of my phone/holding it but never from any distance away even if the room is quiet. The only reason I keep it active is that the Moto X will not launch Google Now when I use my phone's headset button but will launch Moto Voice. And even then, Moto Voice has a lot of trouble recognizing voice commands. It will often fail to recognize "call [contact name]" and pass that through to Google Now which will complete the call.

I have noticed that Moto Voice on the 2014 Moto X is a lot slower than the version on the 2013 version. My old Moto X was right there when I said "OK google now" but not the new one. One of the things I miss about the older Moto X.
