Re: The next Moto X

Personally I would be interested in a better camera primarily. I have a droid maxx, which is very similar to the x, and the camera is the only lacking feature over my other options (Samsung/LG)

The simple minimal UI and buttery smooth experience are features I hope they keep

Re: The next Moto X

It would be awesome if they would make a Moto X2 and a Moto XL. With the only difference being a new selection in the MotoMaker of "Screen Size". Let those that want to pay an increase for a larger screen have the option to.

Amen to that.

Re: The next Moto X

Moto has said for some time they would like to offer more hardware options in MotoMaker. I don't think you would need to give them different names if you have essentially the same phone (ie fit a 5" or 4.7" screen in the same form factor). To continue in this vein the could offer 1080 or 720 on both version, OLED vs LCD option, multiple camera options, etc...

I doubt we will get that much choice, but it would be great.

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, since we are friends I believe his post and removed his name.

A game changer? Did I read that right? Looks like there's going to be a handful of interesting choices this summer.

Even if it's just rumors, news like this just further piques my interest. Can't wait to see what Moto releases.

I know they saw Moto X as a game changer, but I expected the X2 (X+1) to be basically the same, but now I can't wait to see what they have in store.

I'm holding out for this before making my decision on what to buy. Really tempted with the S5 but don't like the bloatware and the samsung OS on top of android. Fingers crossed the X+1 is going to be great and available on verizon.

I am interested in the [Moto X+1] again because the OnePlus is going to have capacitive buttons, which indicates it's going to be a big phone: Regarding CyanogenMod 11S | Page 8 | OnePlus Forums. It's not official yet until April 23rd, but all the indications point toward a big phone.

Why is it so hard to find a good phone that isn't obese? Made me appreciate my Moto X again.

1+1 is going to be:
152.9x75.9x8.9mm

That is >2cm (almost 1") taller, and 1cm (~0.5") wider then the Moto X and JUST TO BIG

The way it is, makes it almost seem like it is something to go along with the moto x not necessarily a brand new phone. Maybe the moto watch? I would love to see a moto x version 2 with upgraded internals and camera launched alongside the moto smart watch.

Not to mention most likely won't come to verizon. 5.5" is just too large unless it has no bezel. i like the size of the g2, it does not feel that large in hand. Think the sweet spot is 5.1-5.2 with very minimal bezel.

They said that last year as well, and the touch less controls were nice, but nothing really "game changing" about it. Still excited to see what they come up with none the less and also interested to see if fast updates continue being now they are lenovo and not "a google company"

Possible Moto X successor spotted in benchmarks!

Phandroid has a report on a new device that showed up in a GFXBench benchmark, which could possibly be the Moto X+1. The device codename is XT912A, which is interesting because the Moto X codename before release was XT912. Moto has used that codename a couple of times previously as well, but the specs and timing of this device seem to indicate it is the X sequel.

http://phandroid.com/2014/04/24/motorola-moto-x-plus-1-benchmark-leak/

Under the hood it has a Snapdragon 800, Adreno 330, 24 GB of storage, 2 GB of RAM, and slightly larger 5.2" 1080p display. If this really is the new X I know a bunch of people will be disappointed by the size increase, but I'm happy about it. The current X has a smaller form factor than other devices with similar displays, and I'm sure Moto will continue that trend.

What are everyone's thoughts regarding this device? Will you be happy if this turns out to be the X+1?

Re: Possible Moto X successor spotted in benchmarks!

Yeah, really disappointed here. The entire reason I'm looking at the X is the smaller form factor. A 5.2" screen basically kills it for me. Guess I'll wait for the current Moto X to go on clearance or just keep looking.

I am curious as to how they got 24 GB of storage on there?

Mine will be for sale when this new one comes out. Always in a case & with a screen protector. 32gb on Verizon. Perfect condition. No personal message on the back either.
