Re: Feature Speculations.

There will be no SD slot, its still designed under google and google hates SD slots.

Was going to say this. Even if Moto is about to officially become a Lenovo company, the X+1 was designed under Google's watch and Google will never put an SD card slot into a phone under their control. The SD card functionality restored by KitKat was a bone thrown to the manufacturers and users who insist on SD cards.

Given my love of the cloud, I really don't care about how much storage it has as long as it's at least 16GB (32 would be nice, though).

I don't use the cloud except for backups and a SD slot would be more than helpful seeing as every other phone has one so far this year.

My music and pics would be that much easier to access.

A big part of what is liked about the 1st X is that they didn't do what the peasants were clamoring for. While rumors point to some concessions to the spec sheet, hopefully they're continuing to make decisions based on what's most optimal, rather than what other OEMs are doing.

There obviously is a use case for SD slots and a tiny population that uses that as a yes/no toggle for purchasing decisions - but what I'd like Moto to consider is whether or not the added utility outweighs the drawbacks (cost, space, other features that don't get added, security & performance issues) and if the choice were to come down to for example that slot or another 500 mAh to the battery, I'd hope they pick the latter 100% of the time.

Since Micro SD already works for those who want it via the microUSB port, I'd only like to see it added if it's the right decision to do so.

Re: Feature Speculations.

IR blaster please.

There's always a trade-off when adding something, even as small as an IR blaster, so I think its unlikely as Moto is going to keep the form factor small and has no history of using them. And, while it would be nice, I would prefer a smaller form factor, bigger camera and/or battery.

Re: Feature Speculations.

Moto's two devices announced today both have SD card slots in them.

So it just may appear in the X+1. Things just got interesting.

Re: Feature Speculations.

They will probably go slightly larger, but I hope not all the way to 5.2" as rumored. My bet would be on 1080.

I'm betting on SD800 Soc, but would love to see an 805.

There will be no SD slot, its still designed under google and google hates SD slots.

Camera will be slightly improved. I hope for a larger sensor and larger pixels, but won't hold my breath.

Ram - 2GB, hope for 3

Would like to see a larger battery and targeting 2 days of use.

What's wrong with plugging your phone in when you go to bed? Having a battery that is capable of two days adds unnecessary bulk to the phone, and Motorola would never do that on their flagship device.... It's too niche.

There is plenty wrong with having to plug in your phone before bed. We used to enjoy life with days of battery life with our feature phones and now we have to compromise and settle for maybe a day (if you are lucky) of battery life. That is unacceptable. Motorola has been good for making phones that last a day or more, but I always hated having to plug in before you go to bed. What if you are out all night or out of town or traveling? There is just so much good that comes with linger battery life, that arguing against it makes no sense, especially since Motorola themselves proved that slim smartphone can have large batteries (Droid Maxx).

Re: Feature Speculations.

Just like they release 2 or more variants with different internal memory they should also release 2 or more variants with different battery like-

Moto X+1 2200 mAh and
Moto X+1 3200 mAh

I bet it would be a huge success and a new trend, if not that at least the 2 people who posted above my comment would be happy.

Re: Feature Speculations.

I think we can expect to see more options in Moto Maker, as Moto has stated this is their goal. Clearly, battery size is a prime candidate for an option in Moto Maker.

Re: Moto x+1...

I haven't seen anything (Not following rumors as much as I used to), but 2 GB of RAM isn't bad...

Re: Moto x+1...

Yeah true. It isn't but I am a die hard Motorola fan but that LG g3 is looking pretty nice. It will be either or for me.

Re: Moto x+1...

As I say right now, the Moto X plus 1 lonely have to use during the Snapdragon 800 one processor 2.3 gigahertz squash soup you wish I don't believe it needs because even with the s4 pro CP we are using now this phone is ticking along just fine no lag or anything whatsoever thanks to stock vanilla Android.. I mean the only other real difference I can see is a 2509nah battery but again the battery we have how is absolutely fine...
